We’ve had the honour of playing some great festivals this year, one of which was the unforgettable Retro Festival where we kicked off the weekend on the Black Hangar Rock n Roll stage! The weekend hosts a great variety of acts, shops, displays and a fairground which illuminates the site throughout the evenings, an absolute sensory delight!

Amongst the festivals this summer we’ve been busy playing our usual haunts, and glad to be back at The Rolleston Arms in Swindon after 5 years!

We were absolutely stoked when our friends at Shakeys Diner invited us to perform at the Rhythm Riot at Camber Sands this year for their Silver Jubilee! What an absolute blast of a weekender, a huge variety of acts and djs, vintage stalls, jam sessions by the chalets, an amazing car cruise on the Sunday. We also took the opportunity to meet up with BopFlix to film some of our original songs 📷 👀

We had an absolute blast at the Retro Americana Festival in Cheltenham at the beginning of July! The sun was out, the bar was flowing and the weekend was packed with live music and entertainment 😎🎸🎶

Rolling into February with a great afternoon show at The Imperial Garden Bar squeezed in amongst Amy’s birthday celebrations and our commitment of love to one another… We are now engaged!!!

Amy’s birthday celebrations were an absolute blast! The Red Hot Trio were rockin’ as always and Rob McElvanney kept everyone dancing by spinning the wax for the evening!
We couldn’t have asked for better company, so we’d like to say a massive thank you to all you lovely lot that celebrated with us! ❤️
In the meantime we will be working on new material to bring to our shows, with some new original songs in the pipeline, and following our more recent addition of ‘Hesitation Blues’ we will be adding some more Western Swing to our repertoire 🎸🎶
We’ve dusted off the January cobwebs and are all set for another year! Our first show of 2023 is at The Ale House in Stroud, 28th January, where we will be joined by Pete Marsh (Swampy The Drummer) for one night only!
Christmas 2022 was a blast, our first year performing a small set of festive songs amongst our usual show. We had the pleasure of performing at the Pittville Pump Rooms Christmas light switch on and met the big man himself on several occasions 🎅☃️🎄
Bookings are coming in thick and fast, which we are over the moon about! From festivals to small bars and everything in between, this is going to be a great year for The Rhythm Slingers. As the year rolls on we are out playing more! We have recently had the privilege of playing at Stroud’s ‘Five Valleys Shopping Centre’ on several of their weekly live music nights. The evenings are well organised and cosy with plenty of food choices available.
We are so glad we were finally able to get out playing live shows this year! It’s been great getting back out and making a racket! Thanks to everyone who came along, and to the venues for having us!
It’s also been the first time that one of our original songs has been played on Radio! Thanks again to Steve Roffey on Rockin’ 50’s Radio and The Saturday Hop Radio Show !
